The short version of the story is that our elites have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for the free exercise of religion as it has been understood for almost the entire history of the American republic, from the nation's founding until the advent of same-sex marriage and the Obamacare contraceptive mandate. They intend to do whatever they can to take your freedom from you.
The long version can be read here. We strongly encourage you to read Peter's firsthand account of what was said at the symposium about your freedom, Christian businesses like Hobby Lobby, non-profits like the Little Sisters of the Poor, and even an effort to unionize the Catholic Church's workforce.
This is what FIC predicted all along. We said that a world that equated same-sex marriage with traditional marriage would not stop there, that it would persecute believers who disagree, and we were right.
The darker our post-same-sex marriage world grows, the more brightly shines our history of opposing it...and of striking fast to secure strong religious liberty exemptions in Connecticut in its immediate aftermath. God bless all of you who who did your part to win those fights!
The battle for faith and family in Connecticut continues on those fronts...and many others. One key way to fight back against the culture of death in the next two weeks is to join the 40 Days for Life campaign in front of Connecticut's abortion clinics.
God bless you and thank you for everything you do, FIC members! See you on the front lines.
