Facebook Faceplant: Users and Viewership in Decline

The title shouldn't surprise anyone.

My use of Facebook has hit ZERO since they banned me for no good reason, and banned me for good.

The social media site routinely bans users from posting information, and puts users into Facebook jail 30 days at a time. That alone will explain why viewer traffic is in such steady decline.

People really should start calling it Fascist-Book, and everyone needs to unplug and throw the site away.

Chances are you’re spending 24% less time on Facebook

It was less than a month ago that I wrote about a trend that should be very worrying for Facebook. Namely, that users were spending less time on the platform. According to Nielsen numbers through November of last year, interpreted by Pivotal, the social network lost about 4% in aggregated time spent.

It's going to crash even more, since Zuckerberg is more interested in indoctrination and controlling what people think rather than letting men and women share their thoughts and express freedom of speech as they see fit.

This is a shameful development, and I really do believe that the federal government has a right to regulate these widespread sites, since they are now publicly traded commodities. Besides, these platforms have such public use. They have no further right to infringe on First Amendment rights.

Now new numbers have been released that go through December, and the problem only seems to be getting worse. The updated data shows that Facebook’s core platform lost 18% in time spent, which is a huge change from the month before. This, says Pivotal, reflects a 24% decline in time spent per person.” Instagram, too, saw some poor engagement numbers. Though aggregated consumption went up, the user base went up at a higher clip, meaning that time per person went down 9%.

Lower usage, less advertisement revenue, less money altogether.

Overall, this shows a mounting problem for Facebook: People are just engaging less with it. Algorithm changes may have something to do with it, and Zuckerberg even told shareholders to expect such a change. But these numbers could also indicate that people are becoming more fatigued by the platform.

Of course people are engaging with Facebook less. The platform engineers are so busy silencing everyone. No wants to use a platform for expression which does not allow users to ... express!

If this trend continues, we may be seeing a shift in the Facebook-Google duopoly. The question is: Who will take Facebook’s place?

Another report suggests that it's only going to get worse for social media sites like Facebook:

Even Millennials are getting sick of Instagram.

More than half of users between the ages of 18 and 24 revealed they are “seeking relief from social media,” according to a survey.

That issue of "relief" so resonates with me. I am glad to be gone from Facebook, even though they shoved me out unfairly.

It was a massive time-suck, and it bordered on abuse what i was contending with from people all over the country, even all over the world. I would get text messages, spam, repeated posts, etc. It was just too much. At least three to four hours of my day would vanish because of relentless social media, especially on Facebook. Not only that, but internecine conflicts and dramas were building from bad to worse. It's appalling to me how many people I know who were taking their personal grievances public and attacking friends and fellow activists. Such behavior is so unbecoming, and yet the temptation to rant on social media has proven to great.

Getting rid of major social media sites ensured that I had one less avenue for people to invade my time and space with all the drama and inessential animosities.

The poll, taken in December, found that 34 percent of young users reported having deleted social-media accounts entirely. Forty-one percent of respondents said they waste too much time on social media, and 35 percent agreed that people their age are too distracted by their online lives.

Bingo! People want to pull the plug.

It's time for Facebook to faceplant. Their abusive disregard for First Amendments is particularly damning. They don't deserve to make money off time and resources taken from American and international users. 

Life Has Improved Without Facebook

This is what I had wanted for the longest time: a sense of peace without massive, overwhelming distractions.

This time, I had no choice but to accept the rest and refreshing which comes with the massive limitations on Facebook.

I was officially barred--or rather my accounts were disabled--on Facebook two weeks ago. It has to be one of the best things that happened to me this month and a big win for me going into the end of the year.

Facebook is a real time suck, and even if the operators behind the scenes were not the huge fascists which they are, too much was taken away with the program. Social media becomes quite redundant, too. The only thing that had irked me came from friends and fellow activists, who claimed that by going away from Facebook, "they" win.

Well, what can one do when "they" deliberately silence people and actively prevent you or anyone else from opening and maintaining a Facebook profile?

It's over at this point. The way to win the Free Speech wars will not occur by playing on the enemy's field, but choosing our own theater for conflict. It's time for us to find other profiles and networks to make our case and state our aims to the world at large.

Gab.ai has turned into an effective and open platform for discussion. I do not like the white national and white supremacist content put out by some profiles, but the answer to free speech you do not like is more free speech that you do like, or to simply stop reading what someone has written.

Without Facebook as a constant distraction and time-suck, I have more time to read the Word and focus on other matters more pressing and interesting. I have found more time to write, as well as upload video content. I also find that I am not that tired in the morning or wired in the evening, so much so that I can't even sleep!

Yes, I am sleeping much better now, too.

What Fascist-book meant for bad, God is putting to good use. So glad to be done with Facebook. With the crack down on public profiles and activists on Twitter, that social media site might be gone, too!

It's Time for Facebook to Go the Way of MySpace

I am fed up with patriots, Christians, conservatives, Republicans, and anyone who believes in liberty and freedom of speech getting shut down by Facebook.

They are out of compliance with their brand and their self-promotion.

No, they do not want freedom of speech or a free exchange of ideas.

What they want is for everyone to think the way they think. Like the railroad monopolists of the 1800s, they think that they can corner the market and forced everyone to use their social media platform.

Yet free enterprise finds its way through the attempts to limit, coerce, and silence people. I am using other social media platforms already. At this point, I think it's time for us conservatives to boycott the medium in its entirety. Even liberals and progressives are sounding the alarm on suppression of speech. They recognize the dangers of silencing dissenters through force, because no doubt they will be next.

The mainstream media is crashing and burning right before our eyes. Matt Lauer was just canned, since he was a long-standing pervert who had gotten away with sexual abuse for years. Now that he's gone, the face of morning news and talk shows is gone. How will the morning news market recover? I can foresee a future in which major broadcasting networks throw in the towel, and the niche cable markets take over.

Perhaps we can scrap the FCC altogether, and not just net neutrality, since there will be more free rein for communication, and the feds are not good at keeping anything in line. Neutrality as defined by the state will never be neutral, anyway, but preference the interests of those in power rather than the rights off all citizens in the United States.

Facebook, Google, and the other left-wing corporate media elites running some of the major social media spheres are in for a reckoning. Like consumers throwing away their Kellogg's products--and in a less sense like the black freedom riders who boycott the Montgomery, Alabama bus line, it's time for all of us to take our business somewhere else.

I predict that government regulation against these major social media industries will set in very soon, and the profit margins which these companies barely thrive on will cut away even faster. New technology advocates will devise better ways for all of us to communicate and spread information. The suppression of speech never bodes well for the aggressors who perpetrate such hatred.

I received only one "violation" for a post, and that was it up to now.

Then all of a sudden, on Thursday, November 30, 2017 -- I get a message all of a sudden stating that I had violated Facebook rules -- not sure which ones or what I did -- and then I was blocked.

I put in key credentials to confirm my identity, and I got a brief message that I would be blocked from the account for 20 days.

HUH? What did I do?

People all around have been very supportive of everything that I am doing. I have reporters and independent citizen-activists who have been telling me that I am having a strong impact, and for that reason these social media tools keep shutting me down.

I tried to open up a third Facebook account, and I used my middle name and last name -- Chris Schaper -- and within two hours I was shut down AGAIN!

Facebook Bans Me Again for 30 Days--But Here's My New Response

Yes, I got blocked again. I will have to ensure that my settings on my original Facebook Account are changed across the board for every single post.

Facebook wants to jail people for speaking their minds and the truth. Not going to work. I had believed that getting away from Facebook to another medium was the way to go. That may be the case if Facebook goes down as fast as Hollywood is crashing and burning right before us.

However ... I realize now why people were telling me "Don't leave Facebook. Don't give up the fight." This platform is an incredible resource, even if the person running it is a corrupt regressive Leftist.

People were right that we should not leave this platform. Black people fled the South during the Jim Crow days and went to New York, Chicago, West Coast, etc. - and sadly, the KKK was there, too. The racism was still there.

Where did black leaders and their friends win the the Civil Rights Battle? Right there in the heart of the South! We are going to fight on this platform and WIN!

Frank Espinoza (LA Werewolf) made a great point on the Left's social media discrimination--these resources are too important, and therefore I--we--will not cede the battlefield. We need to find better ways to take on this discrimination on social media, the same way that black people would go to diners and refuse to leave the counter until they were served.

Marco Gutierrez, you suggested protesting in front of Facebook headquarters. Maybe that's a worthy idea after all! Anyone know of an attorney or a legal firm that will take on this nonsense? Steve Bannon had suggested rolling out federal regulations to ensure that these social platforms abide by free speech rights. I think that is a good idea, too.
