CA Assembly Public Safety Committee: SUPPORT AB 1252. Promoting Cooperative Law Enforcement to Detain Criminal Aliens and to Eliminate Sanctuary Jurisdiction Act http://apsf.assembly.ca.gov/PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, as with all committees in Sacramento, the CA Assembly Public Safety Committee is comprised of 5 Democrats and 2 Republicans. Although Republican Assemblyman Travis Allen's bill to end sanctuary jurisdictions seeks to protect the public from criminal aliens, most likely this common sense bill will be voted down along a party line vote. However, still continue to call, email, and write in support of this bill.
Republican Assemblyman Travis Allen of Huntington Beach, CA is the author of AB 1252. https://ad72.asmrc.org/
This bill would END sanctuary jurisdictions in California and would enact the Promoting Cooperative Law Enforcement to Detain Criminal Aliens and to Eliminate Sanctuary Jurisdiction Act of 2017. The bill would authorize a resident of the State of California to bring a civil action alleging that a city, county, or city and county is a sanctuary jurisdiction.
AB 1252 is scheduled for a 4/18/17 Assembly Public Safety Committee hearing. CALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS IN SUPPORT OF AB 1252. http://apsf.assembly.ca.gov/membersstaff
