The city of Torrance suffered under a liberal Democrat mayor for eight years: Pat Furey.
He did not have the courage to stand up to the Black Lives Matter hate group, which took over city council meetings for five years.
He pandered and caved to Reps Maxine Waters and Ted Lieu on every substantive issue.
He was rude to constituents, arguing with them from the stage, and getting into fights with other city councilmembers, in front of the cameras or behind the scenes.
Who can forget his corrupt shenanigans with the McCormick Ambulance PAC in 2014?!
Not once did we see him take any real stance to lower the crime rates in the city, either.
And now, here he is pandering yet again to the progressive agenda destroying the state of California.
The Bubble Bath Car Wash has been big in the local media and national news because ICE agents targeted the business and took away the illegal staff. LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn complained about the arrests, as well (doesn't she have a real job to do?!)
The workers were illegal aliens. They should never have been in the country. It doesn't matter how loudly the business owner yelled at the agents.
The fact that any elected official would accuse federal officials of kidnapping criminals is just ludicrous. Such brazen disregard for the truth, for facts, and for the rule of law is an embarrassment for the city of Torrance.
"Balanced City" voters need to pay close attention to whom they vote for. For the time being, we can rejoice that a lawless agent like Pat Furey is no longer in our local government.
For the record, we should not support any business which openly flouts our federal immigration laws. Why would any elected official, current or retired, advocate for such a thing?
Then again, we are talking about lawless, creepy Pat Furey here, so there is no surprise.
