It's Over: DACA is Dead, and It's the Democrats' Fault

I was worried there for a while. I thought that the United States Senators in both parties were going to fall all over each other to prove which side could be more compassionate toward illegal aliens at the expense of American citizens.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has passed through two budget proposals in the last two months, and both times the Democrats were not able to get any DREAM Act or amnesty proposals onto the legislation.

McConnell kept his word, and allowed for a free floor debate on four different immigration amendments.

The first amendment, the McCain-Coons proposal, would grant amnesty to 1.8 million illegal aliens while allowing for further study to construct a wall along the southern border.

That legislation was dead on arrival for me.

Check out how that piece of legislation went down:

Every bill needed to reach 60 votes to muster cloture and lead to a floor vote.

That didn't happen for this bill.

There was one setback. Toomey's amendment, to strip federal grants from sanctuary jurisdictions, also failed, but three Democrats did cross over to vote for it:

Then there was the abortive Rounds-King-Collins legislation, which was really bad. Sure, there would be a wall someday, but then any illegal alien who entered the country until June 29, 2018 would be able to apply for amnesty. One can only imagine the rush of foreign nationals to our nation's borders. Not only that, but the legislation which curtail the efforts of ICE and DHS to apprehend and deport illegal aliens. The legislation pretty much amounted to a "sanctuary nation" bill.

And 8 Republicans voted for it!

When does their anti-American insanity stop?!

The last bill, the least objectionable but still not good enough, was the Grassley bill, which would end the Diversity VISA Lottery, chain migration, provide a $25 billion trust fund for the wall, and grant an extended pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million illegal aliens.

That legislation actually received the fewest Aye votes, and for me it still was not good enough.

This amendment process was the last, best hope for the United States Senate Democrats to get anything done for their illegal alien handlers.

And they failed, big time. Not only that, but they have signaled to the coutnry that they care more about illegal aliens and bringing in more third-world immigrants for cheap votes and a cheapened, government-dependent culture which will keep them in power.

Now one has to wonder if they have any political viability left, especially at the federal level, where they have promised left-wing, left-of-center results, only to see their chances dashed again and again.

Twitter users are deriding the deal that would have been good enough for many illegals who wanted any kind of chance to stay in the country:
Then the Colonel added:

The press followed the four amendment votes very closely. Here are the final tallies:
