The Remembrance Project's Statement
on President Trump Rescinding DACA

Washington, DC - The Remembrance Project's National Director and Co-founder Maria Espinoza released the following statement pursuant to the Trump Administration's announcement that it has rescinded Obama's illegal and unconstitutional Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:

"The Remembrance Project commends the Trump administration's decision to rescind Obama's unconstitutional and unlawful program known as DACA.  President Trump has met an important milestone in keeping his campaign promise to us, to our 'stolen lives' families, and to all Americans.

The previous administr
ation's unilateral circumvention and disregard for laws and procedures in place to safeguard our communities resulted in:
  • uptick in MS-13 gangs
  • human trafficking
  • the explosion of opioid drugs in schools
  • job loss, and
  • the most egregious of all- the loss of lives like the recent killings of Cathy Dolan, Domonick Ceceri and Artem Ziberov who were all killed by DACA-age illegal aliens.

We thank and support President Trump and his administration for their commitment to restoring the rule of law."

The Remembrance Project has always maintained that the best and only immigration reform needed is for legislators to finally secure our borders and strictly enforce our interior laws.  Ending DACA is one critical step in the process of restoring law and order to America.
