CAGOP Chairman Jim Brulte shared the following with the California public through an editorial in the Sacramento Bee:
During the past year California Republicans have been listening as you
share with us the challenges keeping you from succeeding and your fears for the
future. We hear you, California, and are ready to fight for you.
We understand that the challenges facing California are unique. That is
why we need California-centric solutions that will grow a more open California,
full of opportunities to expand the middle class and raise people out of
poverty through jobs, education and affordable housing.
Too many Californians have been left behind. Sacramento political
elites have failed to notice or have ignored daily struggles confronting
millions of Californians, many of whom are barely keeping up on necessities
like housing and transportation.
The California dream fails when people must choose between a roof and
basic necessities, when schools can’t hire the best staff to help launch their
kids to greatness, when people feel compelled to abandon the life they have
built here for what they hope will be a better future outside the Golden State.

Democrats have controlled both houses of the Legislature for two
decades. This total control of policy making has left many of them out of touch
and unwilling to truly lead in a time when we are in desperate need of
modification.
Democrats have run the legislature for their limited benefit, while running the state of California into the ground.
This is outrageous. When will We the People in the state of California stand up and push back against this phalanx of Big Labor, Big Green, and their Big Left-wing agenda?
For a state known around the globe as the home to tech entrepreneurs
and innovation, we are sadly lacking inventive solutions from Democratic
legislators. All California residents deserve an equal opportunity to succeed
and to build the future they want for themselves and their families.
The governing class and political economy works for a select few, but what about you and me? Is it any surprise that so many people are leaving this state in droves?
Republicans and Democrats should remember that our shared purpose is to
lift people up and create a brighter future for all Californians. We need to
see ourselves as part of a community. Republicans are prepared to lead
California toward a stronger future but can’t do it alone. If we can do this
together, our brightest days are ahead.

This part is my sole disagreement. For Democrats elected by the special interest sphynx, their goal is NOT to lift people up and create a bright future. Democrats in Sacramento are primarily interested in creating a better future for themselves. What community do they want to build?
Speaker Anthony Rendon has talked about a legislative agenda which focuses on Latinos. What about other Californians? Rendon represents cities with some of the lowest rankings on uality of life. Do we really want his style of leadership doing to the rest of the state what has happened to Bell?
Final Reflection
California took a further tilt to the left on Election Night.
More prisoners will be let out early from jail.
A green haze of pot will cover the state, and even though key communities of interest voted against the measure.
Cigarettes will cost more per pack and further foster an underground economy.
The makers will get taxed more, and the takers will get subsidized more.
UGH!
At least Bernie Sanders' attempt to bureaucratize health care failed.
Republicans have by and large held onto all 14 house seats, but Republicans lost three seats in the state assembly, and are still holding onto the bare minimum to prevent a Democratic supermajority in the state senate.

This is a numbers game which Republicans are not winning right now. This must change, or this state does not stand a chance of surviving economic and moral collapse.
In the meantime, Republicans need to expand their victories at the local and county level, then be prepared to pick up the pieces when Democratic lawmakers hasten the collapse of our state--or end up in a jail cell!
For his part, I commend Chairman Brulte for his efforts to do what can be do for a state which is teetering on the brink, and an opposition party which is still struggling to push back against the corruption.
Let's work as hard as we can to stop the regressive tyranny of the Democratic Party's Left-wing core!
