The Reverend Samuel Rodriguez leads a growing coalition of Hispanic Christians and pastors throughout the United States.
What a treasure, what an honor that his headuarters is located right here in California.
No matter how liberal and dispirited pro-life and pro-family forces may feel in the Golden State, now tarnished my hollow secularism and godless liberalism, a shining comeback is glowing.
"But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day." (Proverbs 4: 18)
Instead of running away from the fight and trying to hold onto what little respect and dignity remains, men and women of faith, standing in Christ's gift of righteousness, are asserting their standing and their rights as citizens of this country.
The First Amendment has turned into a trifle, a mere suggestion to illiberal elements in the state of Calfiornia as well as Washington DC. The U.S. Senate Democratic Minority tried to pass an amendment which would effectively gut our freedoms of speech and religion.
At this time, President Obama does not believe in freedom of conscience, but rather freedom of worship, that our divine convictions somehow have no place in the public sphere. That is all wrong.

National Hispanic Leaders Oppose California Bill SB 1146
Hispanic leaders oppose bill as it "would not only
diminish religious liberty in California higher education; it would
discriminate against minority communities in California."
Any legislation which restricts the natural rights of all men is an injustice to all men. It;s good that minorities in the state of California (if such an ethnic status can still make sencse in the midst of our state's awesome diversity).

SACRAMENTO, Calif., July 21, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- In
response to California Senate Bill 1146, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of
the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, and other national,
Hispanic leaders, have released the following joint statement:
"In representation of the Hispanic citizens of
California, we oppose SB 1146. As Democrats and Republicans, we believe the
bill is an unconstitutional overreach that would threaten religious liberty in
California, would harm faith-based institutions, and would weaken the rich
educational diversity of our state.
Notice that this legislation is opposed by members of both major parties, as well as other political elements in the state of California.

"Members of the Hispanic community would be
disproportionately affected by SB 1146 given our community's long time
commitment toward faith-based education.
Wow! Is anyone in the Republican Party paying attention? Or in the Democratic Party? How about California residents move for restoring Biblical principles and teachings in our public schools?

"This bill would not only diminish religious liberty in
California higher education; it would discriminate against minority communities
in California.
"Hispanics form communities of faith that have long
valued faith-based education, and this bill could – in effect – eliminate
religious education in California.
More Californians, more Americans need to prioritize faith in education. "I believe, that I may understand."

"America's first and greatest universities were founded
and financed by religious institutions. Faith is not an enemy of scholarship in
America, but the foundation of scholarship in America. Faith-based education is
as American as the Constitution itself, and we mustn't let this piece of
legislation threaten that heritage.
These are excellent points!
"At a minimum, if passed, this bill would substantially
interfere with the ability of California's faith-based colleges and
universities to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with their beliefs.
This bill would make religious institutions vulnerable to anti-discrimination
lawsuits and unprecedented government policing. It is not inconceivable that
this bill could in effect eliminate faith-based higher education entirely.
Let's not forget that the state of California will not stop at the Christian colleges. This perversion will seep into high schools, then middle and elementary schools, too. Kids as early as second grade are expected to learn about LGBT history ... as if the sexual preferences of individuals are supposed to feature in our appreciation for our nation's history.

"We are urging our communities to stand themselves in
opposition to this bill while also urging California officials to vote 'no' to
SB 1146.
"Our children and grandchildren would bear the brunt of
this decision, and we oppose it emphatically."
This statement is released in conjunction with a series of
letters being sent to various elected officials in California voicing
opposition to SB 1146. The letters are signed by leaders of minority
communities representing a constituency of millions of registered voters.

Final Reflection
I applaud the Hispanic pastors in the state of California who are standing up to the La Raza tyrants, starting with the corrupt and abusive state senator Ricardo Lara.
Shame on any legislator, regardless of his skin color, who does not vote against this bill and fight to kill it out right.
Let us never forget freedom of religion is the basic of a free society. Forcing religion out of schools, out of public life is doomed to fail, and doomed to fail our society.
