More CAGOP Establishment Desperation: "Trump Delegates" Want Top Two, too?

Now this is really rich.

And this really sad, too.

The Republican Party establishment in California is desperate to hold onto Prop 14, the Top Two Jungle Primary.

They tried using previous Republican leaders in the state legislature.

Then they tried to tap delegates' attention with local leaders, elected officials in non-partisan municipal and county seats.

Now I just received a letter from the "California Delegation for Donald Trump Republican National Convention 2016."

First of all, serving as a delegate for the Presidential nominee is a ... nominal.

Party people of all backgrounds want to give themselves a big name and so they go to the convention. They want notoriety, regardless of whether they support the nominee or not.

Many of them do not worry, do not care about the President, and jsut because they are delegates to the Convention does not mean that they are hard-core Trump supporters, conservatives, or even strong Republicans.

The same flimsy, flabby establishment that wants to manage the California Republican Party's slow decline with controlled failure will not back away from misusing a connection to President Trump in order to justify hurting the state party even more.

Here is the envelope I received:

Here is the letter in different parts:

Here are some key passages from the letter:

"We saw firsthand how his agenda and  message attracted crossover independents and Democrats to our cause and our Party. That is why we are writing strongly oppose current efforts to repeal the "Top Two" primary here in California.

Trump attracted independents and Democrats. Many of those voters have re-registered as Republicans, and this shift took place in other states, where the state Republican Party is actually fighting and winning.

The crossover voters matter in the general election, anyway. This argument has neither basis nor connection to primaries. The open primary has allowed the disproportionate influence of special interest money to choose the top two candidates while eliminating choices from other parties and write-in candidates.

Trump's magic with other kinds of voters--how does this impact the argument to keep Top Two?

The importance of crossover votes from candidates who support Trump and agenda can't be overstated. Independent votes made the difference in swing states that added to Trump's electoral voter total."

Yes, but so did the lower Democratic turnout and the higher working-class voter turnout. Whether Chairman Jim Brulte acknowledges it or not, there is a large contingent of working-class voters in California hammered by big government and public corruption. They are Republican voters, but they just don't know it yet. Some outreach to these working-class communities, many of them ethnically different, would make the difference.

Of course, at this time the party isn't doing much of anything to register voters!

Now this paragraph in the letter is a real whopper!

Repealing the top two primary will prevent this new coalition of independents and Democrats from providing early support to pro-Trump Republicans.

Funny! The state party has worked very hard killing off or silencing pro-Trump Republicans, such as myself and the Beach Cities Republicans. The corrupt Republican Party of Los Angeles County Central Committee did everything they could to shut us down, even revoking the charter for no good reason.

Now they want to get all buddy-buddy with the Trump-licans, who are the vast majority of Republicans in the state of California! What a bunch of two-faced frauds.

Then the letter tries to play the guilt-trip card on us! This is hilarious!

Why would we hurt our pro-Trump Republicans by cutting out these voters in the primary? The answer is, we shouldn't. Let's support our pro-Trump Republicans and let's grow our party by keeping teh Top Two Primary in place.

What a joke?

They are so lost, they are so clueless, and they are pretty corrupt for thinking that any of us are going to fall for this unthinking line of thinking.

Who are some of the people signing off on this?

1. Charles Moran: The Log Cabin "Republican". Really? This guy was a Trump supporter? Uh ... I don't believe it, and this guy is a total establishment shill more interested in being a force to be reckoned with. Besides, what has a phalanx of homosexuals and transgenders done for the Republican Party of California, anyway? Nothing.

2. Howard Hakes. Oh, right, Mr. New Majority from RPLAC. This is a joke, right? This guy wants to identify as an outspoken Trump supporter. LIE!

Check out the friends he hangs out with!

With the Top Two in place, we have seen Republican opportunities fall away every year. In 2016, there was no Republican candidate for the US Senate, regardless of whether a candidate had a chance or not is immaterial. With no Republican at the top of the ticket, there is no manifest opportunity for raising money.

Not only that, but these pro-Trump Democrats and Independents can still vote in the general election for the candidate of their choice.

Or here's an even better idea: find out who these voters are, and offer to re-register them as Republicans! What a concept! I have done that already, and so have other committed Republicans I know in the South Bay and throughout the state.

This is just another sad attempt to induce delegates to go along with the Top Two failure because leaders would rather drive the ship into the ground than admit that they have been bad captains and need to change course.

Prop 14 Top Two must go!

Or else ...
