Further Assessment on Virginia 2017 vs. Election 2018

Yes, the Virginia 2017 Election results were devastating. Conservative pundits want to blame Trump, or go after Ed "Swamp Thing" Gillespie. Ann Coulter talked about the devastating impact of illegal immigration and mass migration into the state.

The Deep Blue Deep State has its own power over the Northern Part of the state.

But Bill Mitchell brings a new perspective to the loss, and why we shouldn't worry too much about Election 2018:

Right.

Hillary Clinton and before that Barack Obama won Virginia, since the tide had been turning in the state for the last ten years.

We need to remember that Republicans are deepening their hold on the Rust Belt States, including Pennsylvania, and now Michigan and Wisconsin. If the President's America First agenda continues relatively uninterrupted, and manufacturing jobs grow, then more happy Americans will vote for Trump and recognizing that the GOP MAGA Agenda is working. Let's hope that public sector unions lose money and power, too, in the next two years, and thus Democratic chances will decline further Look for right-to-work to become a national reality through the Supreme Court's ruling or with Republican victories in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Election 2018: Blue Wave Waxing or Waning?

Ann Coulter had every right to berate the state of Virginia, then analyze what turned the Old Dominion a deeper shade of blue. Breitbart published an article about the Democratic scheme to turn Virginia blue, which had already happened in California. The biggest reason that these once ruby-red bastions have turned Democratic is illegal immigration. Still, I think Virginia has a chance to come back to the red-state fold. After all, the voters threw out House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in an unparalleled primary vote in 2014. The intense media coverage of all the illegal alien minors swarming along the southern border exposed to everybody that all the talk about amnesty and pathways to citizenship for young illegals was inducing more illegals to come to the border.

Ann Coulter blames immigration solely for the sad election results for Virginia's election. I believe that Barack Obama’s eight years of despotic anti-constitutional statism expanded the federal bureaucracies and further entrenched the power of the deep state. Those bureaucrats have now overwhelmed Northern Virginia, and as goes NoVA so goes the rest of the state. My response to that is that many of the Republican Red State conservative voters throughout the state were not turned on or excited about the Republican nominee, either. Virginia-based activists told me that they were more geared up against Ralph than supporting Ed Gillespie.

Does the Virginia blue wave that mean that an Election 2018 Democratic wave will stymie President Trump by taking over the House and the US Senate? Well, it depends. The truth is Democrats are giving more Republican voters a reason to turn out in larger numbers, and the Democrats are giving their own base more reasons not to turn out. The Democratic Party is not only losing money through there once reliable funding source in the labor unions, but we can be assured that by the end of the Supreme Court term in June 2018, their coerced dues through forced membership in labor unions is going to be struck down once and for all. So that's going to be more money that labor unions lose, which means less money for Democratic candidates and causes. The key test for this projected outcome will be Missouri, in which enraged labor union activists collected enough signatures for a referendum next year to block the implementation of the right-to-work policy, which passed in February of this year.

Other major institutions which have propped up the Left and funded the Democratic Party are facing total collapse. Hollywood had one of its worst years in modern entertainment history. The projected revenue will fall well below box office receipts in 2002. And has more scandals emerge exposing the corrupt perverse behavior of the Hollywood elites, more people are going to be staying away from the movie theaters, and going to YouTube to watch videos from conservative and liberty-minded activists and entertainers. More people are going to be learning about constitutional rule limited government and individual liberty. Not only that but we see also with the press and television, that the me to scandals which have been golf Hollywood producers are also taking down major press agents, cultural Guardians so to speak who continue to promote liberal ideologies at the expense of the American people. They're going out of business, they have no money, and there goes the Democratic Party’s easy money.

Let's talk about the explosive revelations of sexual abuse, assault, and depravity among the “pro-woman” Democrats. These scandals are engulfing the Democratic Party in much larger numbers than the smaller number of perverts and pedophiles have been exposed among Republicans. FYI, Republicans either admit wrongdoing and step down or they get forced out by their leadership. In contrast, the Democratic Party, which is so out of touch with working day Americans, stand as long as possible with their perverts despite mounting pressure, as they think that the liberal media will protect them and weather out the media storms. Those days are over. US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand denounced former President Bill Clinton, and the growing number of Democratic leaders realize that they have to do something.

There are more reasons for conservatives to take heart for Election 2018. Four years ago, Republicans weren't popular, but the Democrats was in such disarray, and their liberal base so disaffected, but with the conservative grassroots there was such energy to change the leadership and the representation in Congress. Election 2014 witnessed another epic sweep of seats in Congress. Democrats face a daunting map in 2018, and Republicans are actually more galvanized to vote since unpopular incumbents have dropped out.

Republicans are working on substantial tax reform—and call my naively optimistic, but I think they will achieve this victory. Economic indicators suggest growing prosperity in 2018, which will further assist Republicans heading into mid-terms. Red states are energized not just because of previous victories, but ruling majorities have enacted key reforms. So even if there isn't a national wave, there will be enough support in key states that Republicans will gain in the US Senate and hold seats in the House.

Why does an aura of doom surround the GOP, though, despite the ominous signs for the Democrats? The media is depicting a rupturing Republican Party because of Trump. Notice the inordinate attention on retiring US Senator Jeff flake's hot mic comments. But who cares about the recriminations of the dying press and the exposed political establishment. Despite their pleas, conservatives want the Republican Party to be the party of Trump, Bannon, and Roy Moore. GOP grassroots want men and women in elected office who fight back, who keep their promises, and pay attention to the basic needs of the Working Man on Main Street.

Conservatives, take a deep breath. Election 2018 is going to be spectacular. And if there are Republicans who lose their seats in Congress or around the country, it will be because they have frustrated the MAGA agenda, and frankly we don't need those kinds of representatives in Washington anymore.

What I Like About Trump ... And Why You Need to Vote for Him

For the past year, starting around the first week of November 2015, I wanted someone else besides Donald Trump as the Republican Presidential nominee. Notice that I did not write "anyone," because some of the 16—or was it 17?—Republican nominees were impalatable to me.


Yes, at one time I joked that I would more likely vote for Lindsey Graham instead of Trump. But that was a fit of rage, and I gladly take that back. I do not want Mr. Chamber of Commerce from South Carolina anywhere near the White House. He (and some of the other Establishment picks like Jeb Bush and George Pataki) wanted to open up the borders, make nice with corporate interests, and put the rest of us out of work or into second-class status. All of that "white guilt" immigration talk was grating, too. I am so tired of the United States being shamed because we will not play welfare state to the rest of the world. The citizens who pay the taxes in this country, including myself, don't want to cover the living expenses of those who do not want to carry their weight.

Donald Trump best expressed this rampant frustration and did so without reservation. It’s about time! Donald Trump understands and articulates very well the problems which the Chamber of Compromise have caused us. He recognizes that dangers of globalism which benefits politically-connected corporations at the expense of level-playing field workers and entrepreneurs. Free trade is not free if the workers in China live in abusive working conditions, for example. Nor is it free if Mexican trucks can skirt our environmental laws, but we can’t.


Trump has a blunt charisma about him which attracts people, the much-needed tonic for the destructive political correctness killing our culture and society. Dr. Ben Carson diagnosed the problem, but Trump provided the cure. He is an attack dog, a tiger, a street fighter. We need someone like him who is not going to cover his own tracks and apologize all the time for hurting some people’s feelings.


This country has been looking for someone who will look out for our interests, and not think twice about punching back twice as hard. Trump fits that description. He is willing to take on new fields of battle, too.


He is campaigning aggressively in blue states ... right now!


He is in Minnesota. The last time that state went Republican was 1972.

He went to Michigan. He worked the precincts in Wisconsin.


Pennsylvania has seen a whole lot of Trump. It’s surprising and welcoming.


Let’s not forget New Hampshire. The state motto “Live Free or Die” affably describes the mindset of the outraged majority of voters, including conservatives dejected with the tepid capitulations of our Republican Congress. By the way … Trump is probably going to walk away with at least one electoral vote in Maine, too, where proto-Trump Governor Paul Le Page laid the groundwork.

The Republican nominee’s foray into once unfriendly political territory is particularly gratifying. National Republicans have not been working hard enough to expand the map. They were holding onto the reliably red states, and then Barack Obama burst through the solid Red South, winning Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia in 2008. The purple states in the Midwest should be giving the GOP second thoughts, too, including Colorado and Iowa. The Republican Party is planning to lose if they think that coasting on Richard Nixon's Southern Strategy is going to solve all their problems. Maintenance is not the answer. Outreach and connections will make all the difference.


Trump is unafraid to do that. His blunt honest ruffles feathers, but this kind of ruffling is just what the GOP needed—and the voters wanted. The conservative message can—and should—resonate with Rust Belt workers. Why have GOP leaders ignored the concerns of working and middle-class families? Probably because the consultants want their candidates to run out the clock and spend all their campaign money. And the donor class wants cheap labor at the expense of Americans. That is wrong.


Trump is the right man for the GOP, and for a time like ourselves. Evan McMullin (who puts the M in Meh) will have to sit back and watch Utah go to Trump, too.


A last word for the never-ending cynics and critics who don't want to, cannot, and thus will not vote for Donald Trump: your arrogance is your undoing. I don't care if you do not trust Trump. He has assisted families who have lost loved ones to illegal aliens. He has reached out and connected with the Middle America angst gripping families throughout the country. He has listened to the impending concerns of many, including the disaster that is our foreign and domestic policy on too many fronts.

Trump was not my first pick. Scott Walker has a great resume, from elected office to policy victories. Ted Cruz was as smart as a whip. But what good is a partner in restoration who can't talk to you and understand what you are going through? What made Reagan stand out? He was "The Great Communicator." His appeal include the appeal to a dejected swatch of Americans who felt that the good times were gone for good.

Trump's campaign theme is "Make America Great Again." How much clearer could his intentions be?

Trump is the bull-dozer ready to clear out the wreckage of Obama’s past. He is not frightened by a belittling—and now belittled—media class which all of us hated to begin with. He trashes despicable, corrupt Democrats. He says all the things that we have wanted our Presidential candidates to say, especially to Crooked, Creepy, Crappy and Corrupt Hillary Clinton.


That's a heart-to-heart feel that citizens want in their representative.


So, lingering Never-Trumpers, please put aside your pride. You don't like his past comments or some of his present rhetoric? So what?


There is a lot to like about Trump - and you need to vote for him November 8th.
