LA Times FAIL: Won't Publish the Truth About Ex-CAGOP VP's Resignation

Shortly after LA Times reporter Seema Mehta reported on former CAGOP Vice Chair Kristin Olsen's resignation, I fired off an email to her and other reporters covering the resignation:

Seema:

You can't be seriously buying what Kristin Olsen has announced!

Unseemly Seema won't publish the truth

The Chairman, Jim Brulte, asked me to pull a resolution condemning Kristin Olsen. (see attached)

He called me and told me to pull it - because he did not want it to go public exposing how bad Kristin Olsen had behaved, both publically and privately.

This letter that Olsen just sent out is a load of garbage.

Here is my report on what happened with Brulte:

Unbelievable! I just got a phone call from California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte. "Do you trust me, Art?" He asked me if I...

Here's her response:

Hi Arthur,

Thank you for your email and I get what you are saying. While we have heard about these allegations, we couldn’t publish anything right now because we have no on-the-record confirmation. Please keep me posted if anything more will come up at convention?

Best,
Seema

Unreal! What a crock. The Los Angeles Times routinely publishes allegations about people's illicit affairs. Joseph Turner of American Children First broke the story about Kristin's affair with Chad Mayes.

I am very much on the record with this information, as are others within the state party.

Of course, Joseph Turner corrected this desperate attempt to cover up for Kissing, Cheating Kristin:

She has already seen it [The letter from Olsen's estranged husband to investigate his ex-wife's misuse of funds to cover up for her affair with Chad Mayes]. We all know that her comments are a scam. You don't need to have 100% confirmation to understand the obvious fact that allegations of said affair were the genesis of all of this.

I believe the LA Times, if not all other media outlets, have regularly reported on alleged affairs denied by both parties involved. If "on the record" confirmation was the standard...the LA Times and CNN and other mainstream media outlets wouldn't be called fake news.

I honestly find Seema's twisted and strained logic more insulting than simply being ignored. If she is going to stick to that company line, how about some intellectual honesty about Olsen's supposed "professional and personal" reasons for stepping down?

When she left the legislature she claimed she was going to spend more time with her family. I mean she was spending more than 150 days on the road away from her young family so that made sense. Then she ran for Supervisor a couple of months later. Then she was appointed to CRP Vice Chair a few months after that. And then you find out that she was banging dudes throughout 2016 (Mayes and Gray).

Yeah...a lot of concern for the family and desire to spend time with the family. This time...oh look...she is doing it again for the family?

But now we want to regurgitate the BS and call it reporting? GIVE ME A BREAK.

We are supposed to believe that not reporting on the real externalities that forced her hand aren't news because neither she nor Mayes will confirm. But repeating what one of them says and giving them the opportunity to lie, repeat the lie, and insult our intelligence is real news?

Puhlease.
