RIP Andrew Breitbart

I am glad that someone was out there keeping the Big Media on their toes along with Big Government.

Mr. Breitbart pushed a line of inquiry which has been sorely lacking for some time: media bias. After the revealing photos were discovered of former New York Representative Anthony Weiner, the mainstream media let the story drag for weeks before pressure mounted for the Congressman to resign. Of course, the real scandal is not just the private recriminations of a broken man, but a broken media which has chosen to attack misconducting with the assiduousness of jelly.

Only Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday pressed for redress from liberal journalists like Jon Stewart, a comedian who has resorted to hiding behind a comic persona in order to attack left, but more often right-leaning political figures. Wallace also exposed Diane Sawyer's blatant mischaracterization of Arizona's immigration law as "anti-immigrant", which has never been the case.

The liberal bias in the media is unacceptable yet palpable. From the pablum which they insist on repeating about petty interests, like the style and lack of substance from celebrities, to the incessant hammering against conservative values at the expense of due attention to liberal failings, readers are getting fed up with one-sided reporting that pushes a centralized agenda while ignoring the good and the value found in individual and local investment.

With Andrew Breitbart's passing, let us hope that other journalists will take up the role of keeping the media and the government accountable.
