Chambers and Abiding

"There is no condition of life in which we cannot abide in Jesus. We have to learn to abide in Him wherever we are placed." Our Brilliant Heritage

We have to learn to abide in Him, period.

In effect, we have to "un-learn" a number of things. Chambers wrote about this in another devotional.

We are called to let fall away the other traditions, the old ideas, the fears, the worries, the press that we must do something to merit anything from God, from salvation itself -- the greatest of all gifts -- to all other gifts, which God freely gives with His Son Jesus Christ.

Oswald Chambers is spot one with this statement!

We do not so much have to "learn" as to accept and grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord (cf 2 Peter 3:18) How can we abandon ourselves to God when He has already redeemed us and made us slaves of righteousness?
