9-11 Ten Years Later

What have we learned about ourselves and our country in the last past ten years?

We are not invulnerable, yet we are not victims.

We are not perfect, yet we seek better for ourselves than before.

We desire protection, yet now we need protection from the State, which in the name of protecting us, is taking our rights and liberties through unconstitutional growth and encroachment.

We have defeated enemies abroad, only to see the limits of military force.

There will be always be terror, yet we need not be afraid.

We have suffered unforeseen trauma, yet we are to be defined by it.

The terrorists have not won, nor will they ever. We have won because we have remained alive and well, free and clear, in the face of domestic and foreign onslaughts all.
