Most Democrats at the time of the Civil war and to it's end fought to keep slavery, but Republican President Lincoln fought and freed the slaves and ended slavery. George Washington was a good friend of De Lafayette, the French general of the French forces who allied and fought with the colonists to win our Independence. The two corresponded regularly.

Before the end of the Revolutionary war, George Washington wrote De Lafayette expressing the goal of showing Washington's plans to end slavery. Before the end of the Revolutionary War, Thomas Jefferson wrote of his disdain for slavery.

It's been said that after Abraham Lincoln lost his life to a pro- slavery assassin in Ford Theater, the Democrat President who took office after Lincoln set race relations back a hundred years by refusing blacks the right to vote.

Most Republicans in Congress voted for the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, while most Democrats in Congress voted against it.

In addition, President Washington banned slavery in the Northwest territories. All of these facts are ignored in the U.S. public school system, led by the leftwing indoctrination union led teacher's associations for the purpose of race baiting political exploitation for the purpose of to getting votes for race baiting, dishonest Democrat party candidates and incumbents who for decades have led the charge of intentional, deceptive racial division. The fake news Democrat bias media are the willing participants of the leftwing Democrat cabal in the U.S. education system.
