He's at it again! Less than one week after claiming that he votes in line with the Trump-Pence agenda 62% of the time, Democrat Joe Donnelly is already reversing course.
Democrat Donnelly's campaign this week sent an email to supporters distancing himself from President Donald Trump's administration and attempting to raise money, all while disparaging Vice President Mike Pence's work for Hoosiers both at the Statehouse and in Washington, D.C.
Less than one week -- 144 hours, to be exact -- separate Donnelly's claim that he votes alongside President Trump and his attack on our own Vice President Pence.
But, of course, this isn't the first time we've seen Donnelly zigzag across the board on major issues. Take these examples where we saw two Donnellys -- Indiana Joe and DC Donnelly -- within days of each other:
- Indiana Joe: On Sept. 5, 2017, Donnelly told a reporter that, “a lot of those Trump voters are Joe Donnelly voters."
- DC Donnelly: Just days later on Sept. 14, 2017, Donnelly said during a podcast with former Obama aide David Axelrod that people who voted for President Trump don't represent "who America is" (fast forward to the 0:53:30 mark for this comment).
- Indiana Joe: Last week, Donnelly circulated a press release claiming that he votes in line with President Trump's priorities 62 percent of the time.
- DC Donnelly: This week, Donnelly sent out an email attempting to raise money while attacking Vice President Pence.
We think that Indiana Republican Party Chairman Kyle said it best:
"Democrat Joe Donnelly changes his position as frequently as the weather changes in Indiana. Just last week, he was claiming he supports the Trump-Pence agenda, and this week he's attacking Vice President Mike Pence. I've never before seen a candidate like Donnelly who tries to fool Hoosiers into thinking he's everything to everyone. Through all of the contradicting rhetoric, though, it's clear that when it matters most -- on issues like cutting federal taxes and fixing health care -- he stands directly against Hoosier values and the Trump-Pence priorities in Washington."
Indiana Joe, DC Donnelly...at the end of the day, we know it's all just Democrat Donnelly, and that it's time for him to go. |
