Surprise: Ohio, Pennsylvania Voters Praise Trump’s First Year
CNN wasn't prepared for these bombshells.
A number of conservative media outlets are point out that these voters are Democrats who voted for Trump, or that they used to be Democrats, but switched to Republican and voted for the President.
These interviews are noteworthy and worthwhile, certainly. These voters should be the canary in the coalmine for the Democratic Party, since they have lost so much stock with working-class and Rust Belt state voters. To their hurt, the Democratic Party has ditched that American coalition for destructive, arbitrary identity politics, and they lost the latest Presidential election because of it.
Another point of discussion in this interview cannot be ignored: for this focus group, their number one issue is immigration.
Immigration is the issue that Trump ran on very strongly, and that was the issue which helped him to pummel past 16 primary challengers then shut down Crooked Hillary in the general election.
Hillary Clinton wanted to bring in hundreds of thousands of unvetted refugees. She wanted to grant unfettered amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens--and that is a conservative estimate regarding the number of illegals in the country.
The American People wanted the wall, they wanted mass deportation of illegal aliens. They wanted security and sovereignty. Trump promised, he got elected, and now he's beginning to deliver on these issues.
He needs to push as hard as he can to get through this election cycle. His incremental victories against the Swamp have helped his political stock, but he needs to hold the line on amnesty of any kind, make sure to place all the blame on the Democrats, and send a clear message to the country that the ruling Republican Party in Congress deserves two more years to enact more of the President's agenda.
One thing is certain: now that even CNN must grudgingly acknowledge Trump's victories with flyover states, and his proper emphasis on illegal immigration, Trump has more ballast to push the agenda which he campaigned on. A Red Tsunami may be washing across the country on Election Day 2018, too!
