It's already been happening.
President Trump is cracking down on employers who hire illegal aliens and ignore working Americans.
Not since the last year of the Clinton Administration do I recall this kind of overt enforcement of workplace rules in Americans businesses. I worked in a dining commons at my college in 1999. One day, many of the same employees showed up and continued doing what they do.
The next day, nine of the workers were gone. Immigration swept through and checked up on the records of the employees, and nine of them were not authorized to work in the country, i.e. they were illegal aliens shipped out of the country.
Now we are reading about employers who not only face fines, but prison time for hiring illegal aliens:
BAY CITY, MI -- A Michigan dairy farmer is to spend a couple of years
in federal prison and owes a six-figure fine for hiring undocumented
immigrants.
Reminder: Trump won Michigan, the first Republican to do so since in 1988.
His victory is paying off in dividends for American workers.
U.S. District Judge Thomas L. Ludington on Thursday, Jan. 4, sentenced
Denis Burke to two years in prison, followed by two years of supervised
release. Ludington did not order Burke taken into custody on Thursday, but gave
him time to self-report to the U.S. Marshals Services.
The judge also ordered Burke to pay a fine of $187,500 and an
assessment fee of $100.
BAM!
Enforce the law! Obey the law!
Burke in September pleaded guilty to knowingly harboring illegal aliens
for private gain and/or commercial advantage.
Shameful! This is slavery, and it's wrong.
In exchange for his plea, the prosecution dismissed four more counts of
the same charge.
Burke's wife and codefendant, Madeline Burke, in June pleaded guilty to
one count of hiring without verification of employment eligibility. In
September, she received two years' probation and was also ordered to pay the
same fine with monthly installments of $15,600.
Husband and wife were committing the crime. Unbelievable. I wonder when the press will ask about the plight of the children. Will La Raza activists line up and ask "But what about their children?"
Not going to happen, of course.
The Burkes own Parisville Dairy in Huron County and Dunganstown Dairy in Tuscola County. Between February 2008 and May 2013, the couple hired and harbored more than 100 undocumented immigrants to work on their farms, Denis Burke's plea agreement states.
They hired 100 illegals to work on their farm from February 2008 to May 2013. It was so easy to bring in the illegal labor. But wait ... didn't that whole DACA program ensure that the illegals could legally work in the country?
Notice how this fact knocks the sand out of the lie that DACA is needed to ensure proper employment on our fields. It's a load of crap.
Check out what the Burkes did for these illegals, when they should have offered the same opportunities to Americans--or done all the work themselves:
"Denis Burke gave the illegal aliens free housing on or next to
his farms so the illegal aliens would be readily available for work and less
accessible to immigration authorities," the document states. "Because
the illegal aliens lacked valid documentation, they could not get driver's
licenses, open accounts at financial institutions so they could cash paychecks
themselves, or register vehicles with the Michigan Secretary of State."
As a result of this, the workers relied on others to drive them around.
Unbelievable, but true. It's time that employers in this country stopped skirting our nation's immigration laws.
There is a reckoning coming, and American workers will be restored to the honor and integrity which they deserve.
