What Did Ben Shapiro Say? Some Concerns About Recent Comments

I am starting to worry about Ben Shapiro.

He stood up to the worst of the worst in the media, on film, and in public.

He has battered down the most militant liberals and progressives, often without breaking a sweat.

Yet he is a Never-Trumper. I find this stance staggering and very difficult to tolerate.

How can this man claim to champion the cause and expansion of conservatism when he refused to support President Trump in 2016?

What would have been the alternative? Gary Johnson?

The winner would have been Hillary Clinton. It just bothers me that there are conservative pundits out there who have such a hardened disregard for President Trump.

Then I listened to the podcast below, and I must say that I heard some other things that I did not like, either:

"Radical Islam and Islam are not the same thing."

For this statement, I will give Shapiro a pass, sort of. I used to believe that there were "regular Muslims" and "Crazy Muslims." I used to believe that Islam in and of itself is a religion of peace, but the problem is that a number of Muslims have taken the Koran to excessive extremes.

Forunately and unfortunately, I do not hold these views anymore. The truth is that Islam is a political cult, not a religion. There is no way that this religion can be reformed, either. The Koran itself is filled with contradictions and conflicts of a sort which cannot be reconciled through reformation alone. The outright contradictory statements about Jesus Christ, about historical references, scientific statements, and other conflicts within the text about its origins and veracity are just too great for reform alone.

Islam is radical, and those Muslims who do not practice the full tenets of the faith are either apostate or engaging in taqqiyah.

What's really interesting about this statement is that Shapiro slammed the existence of "slim" radical Muslim minority:

"Everything that Obama did was all part of the evil plan."

Shapiro makes this statement with a tone of sarcasm. He makes the case on the left and the right that these political forces have a tendency to see their opposing chief executive as putting out clear plans and engineering a widespread agenda.

He dismisses the idea that Obama was instituting a serious, "Satanic" plan. I disagree. Obama announced during his run for President and implemented afterwards a clear plan to fundamentally transform the United States.

He said that, and he sought to do so.

Now, what does Shapiro say about President Trump?

"Most people in government suck at their jobs, because most people in America suck at their jobs,"

Huh? What is he talking about? These statements don't make any sense. Many people go to work and do the best they can in their fields of expertise or along the career paths which they have chosen.

People in government do not necessarily suck at their jobs, and they do indeed articulate a plan, a vision which they seek to implement.

"Most adults suck at everything."

No they don't. Am I missing something in this rant from Shapiro? Is this supposed to be some kind of irony?

Shapiro shares some other concerns: "Because we attribute this level of mastery to government ..."

I want President Trump to succeed. I think that he is doing a successful job. I wish that Congress which had been elected to assist with key promises was following through on the promises that they had pledged to fulfill when running for office. I do want President Trump to do great things for the country, but that does not mean I want him to be a dictator, either.

I also counter with Ben Shapiro's comment "We think it matters so much who heads the government."

Yes, it does matter. We have elections to fight out this issue every four years.

Here's another remark which really offended me:

"In many ways, I think that Barack Obama was more competent than Trump in a lot of things. I think he had more plans than Trump had. I think Trump is more ad hoc."

No Obama wasn't! Are you kidding me? Does Shapiro provide any proof or examples to justify this argument?

The remaining part of the first video above contained great content of his exchanges with liberal college students.

But his statements on his Daily Wire program are becoming more disconcerting. There seems to be a little Trump Derangement Syndrome in his current speeches and commentaries ...
