Corruption: How Democrats Succeed in Government Without Really Serving

Los Angeles County has been the home (or rather, haunt) for local corruption for the last two decades.

From South Gate to Monterey Park, and even Montebello, California, funding issues, mismanagement, and difficulties with holding onto long-term reserves have become all too common place.

The elected officials are sold out to private vendors, who in turn enrich themselves with taxpayer dollars, all while pushing up the local fees and taxes.

Cudahy is one key example, where the corrupt city council has made numerous corrupt deals with the marijuana dispensaries and other consultants, all of whom are friends with the elected officials on the dais.

Huntington Park is also in bondage to public sector unions, marijuana dispensaries, and the illegal alien/La Raza racket, along with private vendors. Puppet-master Efren Martinez has been buying up support and influence throughout the region. His campaign committee for state assembly has gone nowhere, since he doesn't run for office.

BUT ... he uses the funds to dole out cash to other candidates and put them in office. He solidifies his chances to hold his grip on power throughout the region. The bus and taxi contracts have gotten more expensive, while the service has gotten worse. Police officers are leaving the city department, and the chief of police is incompetent and corrupt.

Pretty scuzzy.

While the Bell, California scandal exposed the extent to which local leaders will take advantage of a local, inattentive, low-income, working class voting population, the series of scheming city councils is a legacy which, another low-income, small-time government agency is brewing up scandal and overflowing with corruption.

The former Superintendent for the Centinela Valley Union High School District has finally been formally charged by the Los Angeles County DA's office. The investigation took 3 years to complete, but they finally lined up 13 formal charges, including public corruption and fraud.

The arrogance of these bureaucrats is just untenable. They are going down fast, even in deeply corrupt California, where favors and political handouts follow the most connected rather than going to the most deserving in the best service for all.

The working people of California are getting angry. Many of them are too poor, have few options besides living where they are. Moving is not the cheapest recourse. Many of them will rise up and fight back--and they are already doing so.
