Des Moines Register Letter to Editor: Bobby Jindal for President

The Des Moines Register has seen the light once in a while.

The paper endorsed Mitt Romney for President in 2012.

And now, a Letter to the Editor praises 2016 Presidential candidate Bobby Jindal.

Jacob Hall, Sioux Center, Letter to the Editor 12 a.m. CDT October 1, 2015

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has done most of the things conservatives want the next president to do.

Louisiana has been the most pro-life state for six straight years. Jindal defunded Planned Parenthood. And when Planned Parenthood supporters protested, he simply put the undercover videos on loop outside to show exactly what they were supporting.

Like Governor Scott Walker, Jindal has pushed back Planned Murderhood, and did it before Washington was even discussing this issue.

He's the only governor running who actually cut the size of government. He cut Louisiana's state government by 26 percent.

Yes he has, and even the state legislative Republicans have been unhappy with these changes. Too bad.

He instituted school choice. He issued an executive order protecting religious liberty. And not only that, but he ensured if a state official were taken to court that an attorney would be willing to defend that official free of charge.

School choice is absolutely crucial for the future of our kids. Too many minority youth suffer in terrible schools, where teachers union dictate policy and discourage reforms. Education is the civil rights issue of the 21st Century, and Republicans are on the winning side of this fight. Bobby Jindal has already won it!

Governor Bobby Jindal (R-Louisiana)
Jindal oversaw the largest state income tax cut in Louisiana history. He's led on health care issues since he was 25 years old. He's a proven leader with a spine willing to stand up for what is right.

Yes! A spine! That's exactly what we need in Washington, and in the White House, particularly.

All these accomplishments have made Louisiana the happiest state in the country. In fact, the five happiest cities are in Louisiana.

Of course they are!

Jindal isn't polling well. But Sen. Rick Santorum wasn't either in 2011.

Jindal is a better fighter than Santorum, with a much better record. He can do very well next year and pull off major upsets.

Conservatives have a chance to reward a governor who has done many of the things we desire to get done in Washington, D.C. It only makes sense to reward him with our vote.

Great letter all around.
