Reflection on "My Utmost" November 15

"One of our severest lessons comes from the stubborn refusal to see that we must not interfere in other people’s lives. It takes a long time to realize the danger of being an amateur providence, that is, interfering with God’s order for others."

I could not agree more.

There are too many Christians who think that they are doing God a service when they step in to bail someone out from their current circumstances.

God's supply far outstrips what any one of us can do for our fellow man. Anything that we do is based on the power of God working in us and through us. We so easily forget that God is able to do for us far more than we can ever ask or think! (cf Ephesians 3:20)
