Jefferson County Bankruptcy

Something is rotten in the state of Jefferson County.

The sewer system overhaul loaned out in bond measures has put the Alabama county in the red by $3 billion dollars, a sum so large that the city of Birmingham has issued a resolution urging the county to file bankruptcy.

From GOP Presidential candidate Herman Cain's sudden visit to the Cotton State, to controversial yet bold immigration reforms, Alabama has been in the national spotlight for some remarkable and devastating reasons.

Let us hope and pray that the people of Alabama will make wise economic decisions to resolve this wretched crisis, and that the fallout will not spill over and contaminate the bold leadership that the state has demonstrated in years past.
