Public Education: Local Battleground on Students

School boards and Unions do not fight for schools or students.

They fight on students. The ongoing conflicts, from an outrageously nonsensical no-confidence vote, to planned sick days, to the time off that Union Presidential candidates take campaigning for leadership, all detract from the mission: educate young people for the future.

Students and teachers are the battleground. No matter who wins the next conflict, the students are forced in the battle, wounded, and ultimately will lose.

A shame, a waste of time, money, and resources, with no end in sight to the ongoing Machiavellian monstrances.

Teachers deserve to be teachers, not foot-soldiers in political fights.

Communities deserve leadership in their School Boards, not politicians in league with outside interests.
