Oklahoma MassResistance on the MOVE!

MassResistance is making waves across Oklahoma. Igniting pro-family citizens to push for change!

Local protests, State House action, statewide and county GOP presence, school actions, and more every month.

July 28, 2025
ALT TEXT In Oklahoma, people are now standing up to the poisonous LGBT push for public Drag Queen events for children.

We all think of Oklahoma as a “deep red” state. But – as in so many other “red” states, that can be an illusion. There are RINOs controlling the Legislature as well as many city councils and school boards. Schools normalize destructive LGBT sexual behaviors. LGBT activists are publicly pushing their transgender Drag Queen agenda on children in towns across the state – and local businesses openly fund those events.

ALT TEXT Targeting children: A recent Oklahoma LGBT "Pride" event featured activities to specifically attract kids.

Pro-family parents have watched all this and have had nowhere to turn – until recently.

It started with one email at the beginning of March from Eddie, a parent in Bartlesville, in central Oklahoma. He wanted help pushing back against the outdoor public Drag Queen event targeting children – that his city council had not opposed and that was being funded by local businesses.

We spoke with him about getting a team together and making a difference. Soon others got on board, and word spread across the state. Before long, our new Oklahoma MassResistance chapter had nearly 90 members!

ALT TEXT

Over less than five months, the Oklahoma MassResistance has started making a difference across the state! Here are some of the things they’ve done.

  1. Peeled off businesses from funding the upcoming “Pride” Drag Queen event in September in Eddie’s town.

  2. Publicly protested a Drag Queen reading event for children at a bookstore in a neighboring town. That will likely not take place again!
ALT TEXT Bartlesville MassResistance activists protest outside of a Drag Queen event for children in the town.

  3. Began a campaign to pressure school district officials to remove its offensive “sexual health” curriculum that normalizes destructive LGBT behaviors. Oklahoma schools are overall less radical than other places, but we’re not settling for that. We want all the harmful materials cleaned out.
ALT TEXT From a local high school's "sexual health vocabulary" curriculum.

  4. MassResistance had a table at the Oklahoma State GOP Convention. A lot of people expressed interest in working with us and getting involved.
ALT TEXT The MassResistance table at the Oklahoma State Republican Convention had activist information, pamphlets, and a sign-up sheet.
ALT TEXT Our table got a lot of traffic.

  5. At a Drag Queen event in a public park, our activists held a counter-event with speeches and Bible verses telling the truth about homosexuality, pride, and the meaning of the rainbow.
ALT TEXT The LGBT Drag Queen event in the public park featured this bizarre man in a short dress speaking next to the sign "Drag Is Art."
ALT TEXT The counter-event, in the same area, by Oklahoma MassResistance activists.

  6. Supported our national Obergefell resolution. Our Oklahoma chapter enthusiastically got behind our national MassResistance effort to have state legislatures pass a resolution calling on the US Supreme Court to undo its flawed 2015 Obergefell “gay marriage” ruling.

  7. Thanks to our activists, the County GOP Committees in Washington County and Kay County each passed resolutions urging the Oklahoma Legislature to support our Obergefell effort. The Rogers County GOP Committee went even further; they told the legislators to pass the resolution.

  8. At the Oklahoma State Capitol, State Senators enthusiastically got on board. When the MassResistance Obergefell resolution was formally introduced in the Senate, over half of the Senators signed on as co-sponsors!
ALT TEXT More than half of the Oklahoma Senate are co-sponsors of the resolution! It immediately got the attention of national media.
The resolution would have easily passed. But outrageously, it was blocked from reaching the floor by the RINO Senate Majority Leader (Sen. Julie Daniels). When contacted afterwards, her office refused to give a reason for her opposition. But of course, we persisted ...
Sen. Julie Daniels, the Senate Majority Leader, is now more unpopular than ever in her district.

  9. MassResistance activists in Sen. Daniels’ district cornered her at an event and asked her directly. Here’s the lame reason this RINO gave:

You told me that you want the resolution. I think there are ways that we could all celebrate marriage without always going and saying something more negative. I would go and celebrate what is positive and strengthen what is positive because I don't see that Supreme Court decision going away anytime soon.

Then she walked away. But she hasn’t shown up at any of her scheduled public events in her district since then. We suspect the resolution won’t be blocked again next session!

Final Thoughts

Our Oklahoma team is doing its part to move the needle back toward the right!

Why does MassResistance catch fire among strong pro-family people across the country? They tell us it’s because we’re the only national group that is serious about forcing real change. Some of the individual issues we confront may appear small, but the effect of directly taking them on (and not stopping) has reach!

Letter to the Editor: "Do you live in Torrance or Downey my hometown?"

I’ve enjoyed and learned from your writing over the years.

I was reading your latest column today in Townhall.com and I was surprised when you mentioned “driving back home to Downey, California“.

Because I grew up in Downey, and I graduated from Warren High School in 1964.

But then I looked at your biography on Townhall.com, and it says you currently live in Torrance.

So I am, of course, confused.

Torrance or Downey now?

And I was interested in what brought you to Downey, and how long have you lived there?

My brother and sister have also moved far away from Downey, but still in California.

And we have been surprised and disappointed frequently when we hear news of the deterioration of things even in Downey.

For instance, the crime. And the mayor of Downey currently seems to be a radical leftist.

A far cry from Downey Mayor Scott, Temple in the 1960s, who was a family friend and attended our church.

I’m sure you’re busy, maybe won’t have time to even read or respond to this, but I wanted to thank you for your writings and unique perspectives and perhaps you will drop me a note with a brief explanation to the questions I asked.

Sincerely,

DH ‘Deke’ Preacher

Hey, Deke!

I always make the time to respond.

Thanks for writing back! Much appreciated.

I still live in Torrance, but I have been working with fellow pro-family activists in Downey, CA.

Things have improved somewhat in the city:

The Controversies at LifeSiteNews

John Henry-Westen, the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of LifeSiteNews, was recently removed from his position by the LifeSiteNews board. Then he got reinstated.

These moves caught much of the pro-life, pro-family, religious conservative world off guard. That’s saying a great deal, considering that pro-life and pro-family conservatives have seen all kinds of moral decline and degradation becoming the norm throughout the West. Pro-family fighters have witnessed same-sex “marriage,” rising defenses for pedophilia, and the increased push for assisted suicide. So little shocks us now.

What’s going on here? Should we be concerned? Why is one of the flagship pro-family (and anti-LGBT) news sites facing such leadership turmoil?

First, let’s talk about LifeSiteNews.

This Catholic-based news site has rigorously and accurately documented the downfall and decline of a De-Christianized West. For years, their commentary and confrontation on these matters commanded respect. They even republished the activist reporting from the organization I work for—MassResistance—because of our unwavering commitment against the LGBT agenda in all of its perverse forms.

LifeSiteNews did not back away from calling out moral corruption. To their credit, they were not only unafraid to call out the wrongs and evils of homosexuality and transgenderism. They were a welcome voice for social conservatives like me because they unflinchingly criticized the Republican Party, including President Trump, as they cozied up to so-called LGBT “conservatives” infiltrating the larger conservative movement. Their countercultural attack on mainstream conservatism gave me hope in spite of the growing fecklessness or cowardice of conservative leadership to oppose same-sex “marriage”, adoption, and the like.

So, what’s going on at LifeSiteNews? Is the leadership getting soft, embracing pro-“gay” messaging? Not a chance.

Rather, the news site has taken a dark turn on another set of issues.

For the last two years, I noticed the site’s publishing an increasing number of anti-Israel, anti-Zionist articles on many policy fronts. They were cataloguing the so-called war crimes of the IDF and blasting American politicians and foreign policy makers as puppets of Israel.

Here’s a sample:

Orthodox rabbi: Zionism a ‘cardinal sin’ for Jews, creation of Israel is ‘satanic’

Zionism: Rebellion against God?! | Rabbi speaks out

Why is a Catholic-oriented news site interviewing a Rabbi? And why are they going off on Israel and Zionism?

Oh, and it gets better (or rather, worse). They talk about the horrendous “Israel Lobby” that supposedly controls Washington:

GOP Congressman Thomas Massie exposes Zionist lobby’s power over Congress

Leaked audio exposes Israel lobby’s enormous power over the Trump administration

WATCH: Candace Owens exposes the Israel lobby’s stranglehold on America

For what it’s worth, Candace Owens has been exposed as an intellectual lightweight with a shaky grasp of the facts. She celebrated Andrew Tate, a serial pornographer under indictment for sex trafficking, while denouncing pornography. She also claimed that Hitler was not that bad.

Regarding the purported power of AIPAC, most of their funding goes to Democrats, and the Democratic Party has become increasingly hostile to Israel. As for Congressman  Massie, his performance theater against big spending is starting to wear thin. He never called out the big spending from his fellow US Senators, and he voted for liberal Republican Tom Emmer to be the next Speaker of the House this year. The focus and subject matter of these reports leave much to be desired.

And sadly, LifeSiteNews has thrown itself into the USS Liberty conspiracy. (I refute those talking points here.)

In 2023, Patrick Delaney, one of the editors at LifeSiteNews, wrote, “Orthodox patriarchate condemns ‘Israeli radicals’ for attacking bishop, priest at Church of Gethsemane.”

Yes, there are Jewish radicals, as there are radicals in other religions. What is conspicuously missing from this coverage, however, is the widespread denunciation from other Jews against such abuses. In contrast, Islamic militants have committed all sorts of crimes and terrorism against innocents—Christian, Jew, Muslim—and there is no condemnation from residents in Gaza or Judea and Samaria of their hostilities.

For the record, the Israeli government has cracked down on hyper-orthodox adherents harassing Christians, and local Rabbis raised funds to help repair a Catholic church attacked by Jewish radicals, too.

In 2024, Delaney wrote a particularly egregious article, claiming that Israel was conducting a “genocide” against the residents of Gaza following the October 7th, 2023 terrorist attack from Hamas:

Israeli soldiers celebrate the ‘torturing, humiliating, and mocking’ of Palestinians on social media

I refused to remain quiet in the face of these blatant lies. I wrote an extensive response email (republished here), refuting the libelous claims about Israel and American foreign policy vis-à-vis the Jewish State. I focused on the redefinition of “genocide.” I also pointed out that his using “Al-Jazeera” as a legitimate news source is suspect.

Delaney responded, and he provided a broad mixture of half-truths and misdefinitions to justify his dishonest arguments.

LifeSiteNews eventually printed my letter, along with Delaney’s response (InfoWars republished the article, too!), but referred to me as “William” and called me a “Christian Zionist journalist,” presumably as a smear. I wear such terms as a badge of honor. The most damning aspect of Delaney’s defense of calling Israel’s attacks on Hamas “genocide” rested on his contortion of the term to include any form of fighting in a combat zone!

With all of this information in the background, let’s get to the firing and rehiring (?) of John Henry-Westen.

LifeSiteNews Co-Founder and Managing Editor Steve Jalsevac released a statement regarding Westen’s departure:

While legal constraints prevent us from delving into extensive detail, I can share that the decision was influenced by several factors, including a 72% drop in readership from 2021 to 2024 during John-Henry’s tenure as CEO, a decline in monthly and new donors, and other business challenges. Additionally, an internal survey revealed significant concerns regarding staff sentiment and safety scores, which further informed the board’s considerations.

Nonprofits have to keep the money flowing, but should stick to their principles. A steep drop-off of nearly three-quarters of your readership is troubling.

I can guess why LifeSiteNews is losing readers and donors:

The Pro-Hamas, Anti-Israel Propaganda!

Truth matters in the fight against moral and sexual degradation. When a Catholic-based news site insists on pushing pro-terrorist propaganda, venturing into foreign policy conspiracy theories, they are embracing lies, one can expect that their once-faithful readership will be repulsed.

And now, we receive word that John Henry-Westen has been reinstated.

Surprisingly, the site issued a very short reinstatement statement:

The LifeSiteNews Board of Directors voted today to restore John-Henry Westen to his former position.

“John-Henry Westen has been recognized by the board as the President and CEO of lifesitenews.com Inc. subject to administrative review and investigation.”

C.J. Doyle of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts issued the following analysis:

"This is likely the only time in the history of corporate governance that a statement restoring a CEO showed even less cordiality than the statement which announced his firing.

The brevity, timing and language of the announcement all suggest a profound reluctance, or even resentment, on the part of those who issued it.

It was released at 5:47 EDT on a Friday afternoon, a time best suited to minimize publicity on a story that a corporation or a government agency wishes to bury.

The use of the word 'recognized', rather than the more usual 're-appointed' is curious. It might suggest that the previous vote was somehow improper or legally defective.

The inclusion of the phrase 'subject to administrative review and investigation' suggests continued hostility towards Westen by the Board of Directors.

There is also a striking omission. There is no mention of Westen being restored as Editor-in-Chief of LifeSiteNews, a position specifically referenced in his termination announcement.”

LifeSiteNews is losing readers, then they bungled the removal of the CEO. C.J. Doyle’s analysis makes sense. Potential litigation often scares organizations into a quick, unexplained course correction.

But did the board fire Westen because of the website’s increasing embrace of anti-Zionist propaganda? One of the frequent commentators on the site, Peter LaBarbera, shared with me that Westen was not removed because of the anti-Zionist turn in reporting: “It wasn’t about the Israel bashers. They’re still there!” He encouraged me to reach out to one of their main contributors, who privately shared his criticism of the anti-Zionism turn in reporting, but that writer has not gotten back to me yet.

If the LifeSiteNews board of directors can’t see how their dishonest reporting on the Arab-Israeli conflict is affecting readers, then they should be fired!

If LifeSiteNews editors want to maintain life on their site to report the news, they need to get back to reporting … news! All the anti-Zionist propaganda, I submit, is the real turn-off, turning off the donations and views.

The larger question remains: why publish such anti-Israeli (and thus anti-Semitic) garbage? One suspects that the site, based in Canada, is trying to placate an increasing Muslim population. Perhaps they are buying into the engagement harvesting that comes with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Whatever the reason, they need a major course-correction if they want to survive.

Trump's Trade Deals Are Game Changers

President Trump’s newly announced trade agreements with Japan, the Philippines, and Indonesia are more than a string of diplomatic victories. They are the most direct real-world application to date of a once-theoretical idea in economics—optimum tariff theory—and they expose just how mistaken the academic consensus has been for decades.

For years, economists have taught that while a large country might, in theory, benefit from imposing tariffs, in practice such a move would inevitably backfire. According to the textbook view, the threat of retaliation made any attempt to use tariff leverage too risky to attempt. The theory of the optimum tariff was acknowledged in lectures, but quarantined in the realm of abstraction. No responsible policymaker would ever dare act on it, economists said, because any gain from tariff revenue or improved terms of trade would be offset by trade wars, collapsing exports, and diplomatic breakdowns.

This week, that claim met with the reality of Donald Trump's trade negotiations. And Trump won.

The Deals That Changed the Game

On Tuesday, Trump announced three separate trade deals with key Pacific allies. The Philippines agreed to drop all tariffs on U.S. goods, allow open-market access, and cooperate more closely with the United States militarily. In exchange, the U.S. will impose a 19 percent tariff on Filipino exports—a rate significantly above any previous Most Favored Nation rate but well below the threatened 25 percent maximum. Hours later, Indonesia signed a similar agreement, eliminating 99 percent of its tariffs on American industrial, agricultural, and tech products while accepting a 19 percent tariff on its own exports to the United States.

Then came the most consequential agreement of all. After a final round of negotiations in the Oval Office, Japan agreed to a 15 percent tariff on its exports to the U.S., including automobiles and parts. In return, Japan agreed to allow imports of U.S. cars that meet American standards (rather than the rigged standards Japan has used for years to keep out imported cars), pledged to buy 100 Boeing aircraft and billions of other American goods, raised its defense spending with U.S. firms to $17 billion per year, and promised a jaw-dropping $550 billion investment into U.S.-based projects.

These deals share a common structure: foreign countries accept high tariffs on their exports, eliminate or slash tariffs on U.S. goods, and offer major additional concessions to maintain access to the American market. Far from protectionism or isolationism, this is strategic bilateralism.

What the Economists Got Wrong

The most remarkable thing about these deals is what hasn’t happened. There has been no retaliation. No counter-tariffs. No breakdown of diplomacy. No trade war. Instead, what Trump’s negotiating strategy has revealed is that the assumption of symmetrical retaliation—the cornerstone of modern trade theory—is simply not true in practice. The Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan all depend more on access to the American consumer than the U.S. depends on selling to them. When confronted with the reality of new tariffs, they did not escalate. They yielded.

The entire postwar trade consensus among academic economists (including those laboring inside the Federal Reserve) has relied on the idea that retaliation would always be swift and severe—making any attempt to use tariffs to restructure trade too costly. What Trump has shown is that this assumption was not an economic law, but a political bluff.

This has long been a serious problem with trade economists. Their papers and models assume retaliation, but that is a political assumption not an economic one. No law of economics or model of rational behavior insists that countries must retaliate. It was just something economists kept insisting would happen.

Now we see that this assumption was wrong. The result is a fundamental change in how the U.S. engages with the global economy. Tariffs are no longer the relics of a mercantilist past. They are active instruments of negotiation—used not to shut down trade but to reshape it in America’s favor. These are not blanket restrictions. They are tailored deals, structured to reward allies who accommodate U.S. terms and penalize those who exploit U.S. openness without reciprocity.

The Return of National Advantage

What these agreements prove is that the logic of optimum tariff theory works when backed by real power and political will. The United States is a unique player in the global trading system. Its consumer market is irreplaceable, and its dollar remains the global reserve currency. That gives Washington leverage that no other country can replicate. And Trump has been willing to use it where others were too timid.

By securing zero tariffs for American exports, new demand for U.S. products, and investment on an unprecedented scale, Trump has not only improved America’s terms of trade, he has reasserted national advantage as a valid organizing principle in international economics.

For decades, the elite consensus warned that any move toward tariff leverage would invite disaster. Trump has now signed three major deals in which the opposite happened. The tariffs came. The retaliation did not. And America walked away stronger.

The global trade game has changed.

MassResistance Exposes Downside to Mahmoud v. Taylor Decision

Teachers’ Union and State School Committee orgs are already working to subvert SCOTUS Mahmoud v. Taylor ruling.

Court ruled that elementary schools must allow opt-out for LGBTQ books.

MassResistance is going further: Coaching parents around the country how to stop the entire radical subversion.

July 15, 2025
ALT TEXT America's largest teachers' union is working hard against parents and their children. But we're organizing to remove the entire agenda from schools!

On June 27, the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruled 6-3 in the Mahmoud v. Taylor case that parents in Montgomery County, MD, have the right to opt-out their elementary school children from “LGBTQ-inclusive” storybooks if the books conflict with their religious beliefs. The Justices cited the First Amendment’s religious freedom clause. The parents in this case had lost before the Federal District Court and Appeals Court.

The school district had previously allowed opt-outs but then revoked that option, forcing children to participate without parental notice or consent.

Although the ruling appears to only apply to elementary school children, it is being celebrated by parents across the country as a big win. But how big a win is it really?

School districts pushing LGBTQ storybooks on young children has been a problem since at least 2005, when the David Parker case (in Massachusetts) made national headlines. As we reported at the time, Parker was arrested and briefly jailed when he protested his six-year-old son being read a “gay marriage” book in kindergarten. He sued the school district in Federal District Court and the Appeals Court using the same First Amendment argument – and lost. However, SCOTUS would not take the case.

In handcuffs, David Parker, parent of kindergartner, stands before a Judge in District Court on, April 28, 2005, after spending the night in jail. His "crime" was objecting to the homosexual curriculum in son's kindergarten class. He was barred from all school property for a year.

Leftist groups immediately work to subvert Mahmoud v. Taylor ruling

Within days of that ruling, the powerful leftist organizations that support the radical agendas in our schools got to work to exploit any possible loophole in the text to subvert it, and find ways for schools to continue to push the LGBTQ agenda on young children without parents’ consent. The National Education Association (NEA) – the country’s largest teachers’ union – and various state School Committee Associations are leading the way.

National Education Association

On July 6, days after the Mahmoud ruling, the NEA approved a resolution in response. It was not meant to be seen by the public, but school choice activist Cory DeAngelis got a copy and posted it in his X account.

The NEA is pledging to “protect educators in the classroom who are teaching LGBTQ+ curriculum/content,” and help them avoid any disciplinary action when they mix it into other subject areas.

ALT TEXT From the NEA's resolution. They want their members to feel "safe" pushing this poisonous agenda on elementary school children, no matter what the US Supreme Court says.

The NEA also announced its plans to publish a "Know Your Rights" document about the ruling, and hold "virtual town hall" meetings to help its members safely push the LGBTQ agenda "in this new political climate."

Massachusetts Association of School Committees

The statewide school committee associations across the country, which are unfamiliar to most parents, are ostensibly run to help school committees across the state keep up with important current issues, training, and new committee member orientation. But in recent decades, most of them have become poisonous leftist advocacy groups that push and normalize virtually all the radical agendas to school committee members.

Our friend Mira Belenkiy of the Massachusetts parents’ group Elevate MASS Education received a copy of an email that the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) sent to school committees throughout the state on July 3. (It is also reprinted on their website.)

MASC didn’t mince words about the Mahmoud ruling’s order to allow parents to opt out. It said, “this case has been viewed as an attack on the LGBTQ+ community,” and is a “direct challenge” to school districts’ “responsibilities” to present this material to young children whether the parents agree or not.

ALT TEXT The various school committee associations around the country keep in the background, and have become terribly radicalized with leftist ideology.

In the memo, MASC recommends against adopting a universal opt-out policy. Instead, they provided a list of ways that schools could circumvent that requirement and avoid granting any opt-out requests by parents. They also offered to provide legal assistance to their “questions and concerns.”

Here’s what we really need to do

As good as the Mahmoud ruling is, it unfortunately just serves as a stopgap measure. It applies to elementary school students, only certain books, requires opt-out (versus opt-in), and applies to parents claiming religious beliefs. Moreover, the leftist forces that are already in the schools are working overtime to find loopholes and sleazy workarounds. It will take more litigation by parents to fight those.

Moreover, bad books in elementary schools are just the tip of the iceberg. Schools from K-12 are infested with toxic propaganda and radicalism. From “gay clubs” to gender ideology, comprehensive “sex-ed,” anti-Americanism, DEI, transgenderism, Marxism, pro-Hamas lessons, and more. Students are learning less actual academics, reading skills, thinking skills, etc.

In other words, whether parents like it or not, we are at war! It’s a war that we must win.

Schools need to deliver what parents and taxpayers actually want and expect when they enroll their children. MassResistance is working with parent groups in school districts to:

  • Completely get rid of all the radicalism and propaganda from the schools.
  • Replace it with actual academics and legitimate learning.
  • Remove teachers and staff members who work against that goal.

It’s a big job that involves confrontation with bad leftists. If parents don’t win the battle this way – completely – the assault on children’s minds will never end.

This fight can definitely be won. If you want to start this battle in your district, contact us!

Half-baked measures will never work

The conservative movement is famous (or infamous) for not having the fortitude to fight this battle the way it needs to be fought. They want to testify before their school board, elect a few “good” school board members, or “inform” the community. In practice, this never succeeds. Testifying falls on deaf ears. “Good” school board members can rarely change things. Just because the public is “informed” doesn’t mean that they will actually do anything effective.

It’s ironic that about a month before the Mahmoud ruling came out, MassResistance was attempting to help a parents’ group in Montgomery County, MD – where the Mahmoud lawsuit originated – deal with these issues in their schools. (They did not know when or how SCOTUS would rule on this.) The parents we worked with did not want to actually fight. They were afraid of the teachers’ union. They wanted to try and elect good school committee members. But mostly (they told us), they wanted to inform the public about what was happening in the schools.

Final thoughts

We have a lot of problems with the “religious freedom” argument when fighting LGBTQ propaganda in the schools. What about people who don’t have “sincere religious beliefs” on the LGBTQ issue but still don’t want their children exposed to it? (And how does someone prove his beliefs are “sincerely held”?) Most parents we talk to simply find it to be disgusting perversion that harms children. It perpetuates behaviors that cause disease and mental health problems. This is the real argument – which parents for hundreds of years would have immediately made. But unfortunately, too many conservatives today are too cowardly to use it.

And finally, we’re tired of this “opt-out” nonsense. None of this toxic material should be there at all. Contrary to the left’s absurd talking points, none of it does any child any good. In particular, pornography (and most certainly LGBT pornography) is destructive to everyone, especially children.

The GOP Gets Results

Op-Ed: The GOP Gets Results

by Dorothy Moon, IDGOP Chairwoman

I know politics can be infuriating. Believe me—as an original Tea Partier, I understand the frustration many of you feel with our government. So I get it when I hear people say the system is broken and we need to try something new. But let me tell you right now: a third party is not the answer.

As a volunteer, a state representative, and now your Idaho GOP chair, I know the Republican Party inside and out, warts and all. I often feel the same frustration with the system, like I’m slamming my head into a brick wall. But mark my words: there is no better vehicle for promoting conservative principles and defending traditional values than the Republican Party.

The GOP has experienced fierce internal policy debates since Day 1, when antislavery advocates gathered in Ripon, Wisconsin, to form a new political party. Republican champions have ranged from the progressive Theodore Roosevelt to the conservative Ronald Reagan, yet we have always stood for faith, family, and freedom in America.

Anyone claiming the two parties are essentially the same is just blowing smoke. The opposing party today stands for censorship of free speech, totalitarian government mandates, open borders, racial and ethnic division, and a radical gender ideology that threatens to destroy our children’s innocence.

The Republican Party stands firmly on the other side. In just the first six months of President Trump’s second term, we’ve seen renewed efforts to protect speech, roll back government mandates, secure the border and deport those here illegally, restore national unity, and safeguard our children’s innocence.

Republicans in Congress just passed a major bill delivering real results: massive tax relief for working families, increased funding for border enforcement, nationwide school choice, work requirements for able-bodied adults on Medicaid, and elimination of taxpayer subsidies for “green energy” schemes, DEI programs, and Planned Parenthood.

Here in Idaho, Republicans in the Legislature just wrapped up a tremendous session. Many of our top priorities were passed into law. We protected women’s spaces from men who identify as female. We passed the Medical Freedom Act to defend citizens and workers from unconstitutional mandates. We banned local mask mandates. We stopped tax dollars from being used for soda and candy via SNAP benefits. We passed Idaho’s first real school choice program. And we delivered more than $400 million in tax cuts.

If you support the Second Amendment, the GOP is your party. If you want to protect the unborn, the GOP is your party. If you stand for faith, family, and freedom, then the GOP is your party. If you believe in America, then the GOP is your party.

Have we accomplished everything you and I want to see? Of course not. But we’re moving in the right direction. Let’s have the debates, then work together to keep Idaho and America free.

NBC's Jonathan Gonzalez Doesn't Understand Why Restaurants Are Closing

Journalists are not doing their jobs anymore:

I wrote the following letter to him:

Jonathan:

I just saw your segment on Instagram:

It's not a big secret, really, why businesses are closing all over the state of California.

You have to look at who is running the state of California and who is running Los Angeles.

California's Democratic politicians have been raising taxes and spending at an alarming rate for years.

Plus there's the rising crime rates, and the increased homelessness problems, and the terrible inflation which hurt people's purchasing power, and you have a terrible recipe for business closures across the state.

I think that many of the business owners will not state plainly that the California Democratic Party leaders in Sacramento and Downtown Los Angeles are responsible, for fear of political retaliation.
